There are two teams, Prisoners and Special Forces. The prison has been taken over by rouge inmates who have locked all the staff and prisoners in the basements. The objective of the game if you're on the special forces team is to take out all the armed prisoners. If you're on the Prisoners team, your objective is to take out the Special Forces team. The game ends when all team members from either team have been killed.
