Controls
While you are playing a level (puzzle), the lower portion of the screen displays the control menu. Due to the limited size of the mobile device screen, the whole control menu cannot be displayed. Instead the controls are divided into sets, with the most useful controls on the 'primary' menu. The other controls are on the 'secondary' or 'third' menus. The arrangement of controls in these menus varies depending upon the mobile device you are using. The buttons 'Menu', 'More', and 'Back' are used to switch between these control menus.
The following list describes the operations performed by each control button:
- Arrows
- Tapping the arrow buttons moves Rich one square in the indicated direction.
- Skip
- If you tap the Skip button, Rich will stand still for one turn.
- Undo
- If you tap the Undo button, your last move will be erased.
- Hint
- The game will show you the next move we took when solving the puzzle. If you have made some moves that are different than our solution, tapping Hint will back the game up to the point where our paths differ.
- Show
- The game will save your progress on the puzzle, then will show you our solution.
- Redo
- If you have undone some moves, you can click this button to redo those moves.
- Begin
- Clicking this button restarts the puzzle.
- Save
- Tap this to make a checkpoint. The game will save all the moves you made up to this point. You can have one checkpoint for each puzzle in the game.
- Play
- After you have saved a checkpoint, you can tap this button to return to the checkpoint.
- Quit
- Leave the current puzzle and return to the puzzle select list.
- Step
- Like the Hint button, the Step button will show you the next step to take. The Step button replays your best solution for the puzzle.
- Best
- tapping this button replays your best solution to the puzzle.
- Menu
- This button is used to bring up the secondary menu.
- More
- Tapping this button takes you to the third menu.
- Back
- Tapping this button returns you to the primary menu.
